Musique : Violeta Cruz
* Commande de l’Opéra comique
Once upon a time there was a princess, a long awaited only daughter condemned from birth by a witch to complete weightlessness: of the body, preventing her from touching the ground and of the spirit, causing her to laugh about everything. What can we do with a daughter who knows nothing of the seriousness of the world wondered the king and the queen? Fortunately the princess liked adventures… Georges MacDonald's fairy tales enchanted J.R.R. Tolkien and his follower Lewis Caroll: they are written for children and for those who have never lost their inner child. With humour and poetry, the tale of the light princess evokes the way children face the gravity of the adult world and also the way parents learn to recognise the singularity of each child. A character who flies and laughs on an opera stage? Violeta Cruz and Jos Houben invent a score and a show inspired by the sounds of life, where electronics mingle with songs, the sounds of the world and the musical palette of opera.
